Days 1 - 12

Luxury by Train in South Africa

Day 1 – Depart Pretoria

Arrive at the Blue Train Station Lounge at Pretoria Station by 14:00 for registration and welcome refreshments . At 15:15, boarding commences as your butler escorts you to your suite and familiarises you with the amenities . The Blue Train departs at 16:00, rolling past the jacaranda-lined streets of Pretoria and onto the open plains . Dress for dinner (jacket or waistcoat for men, evening wear for ladies) and choose from one of two dinner sittings (18:30–20:00 or 20:30–22:00) . After the meal, enjoy cognac or cigars in the Club Car before retiring to your luxurious suite.

Day 2 – Kimberley Excursion & Onboard Indulgence

Breakfast is served from 06:00–09:00 on a first‑come, first‑served basis . Disembark mid‑morning when the train arrives at Kimberley Station. A guided tour of the Kimberley Open Mine Museum and the Big Hole reveals the history of the diamond rush . You’ll also receive a commemorative sherry glass engraved with the Blue Train logo . Return to the train for lunch (two sittings) followed by high tea in the Non‑Smoking Lounge Car . Dress up again for the formal dinner in the evening, with two sittings and after‑dinner drinks in the Club Car.

Day 3 – Arrival in Cape Town

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast between 06:00–09:00 as the Blue Train glides towards the Cape Winelands. The journey concludes when the train arrives at Cape Town Station around 10:30, where butlers escort you to the Arrival Lounge . Continue your travels or extend your stay in the Mother City, inspired by the elegance and splendour of your rail safari.
